Wind Tunnel -- for iPhone is the extended version of the Wind Tunnel Free app. It adds visualization modes (turbulence, fluid direction), vga output, ability to load and save scenes, share scenes by email, rotate obstacles, adjust friction and viscosity and many more features.
Full feature list include :
• 4 actions : interact with the fluid, draw obstacles, draw smoke sources, use eraser tool.
• visualization modes : particles (streamlines, streaklines and random), colored smoke (predefined stripes, streamlines and custom), pressure field, speed norm visualization, curl (visualize turbulences), velocity field (visualize speed direction) combined with speed norm or curl.
• Load/save scenes, share scenes by email, import obstacles shapes as png files.
• Rotate/move obstacles, pause simulation with gestures.
• Adjust physical parameters : fluid viscosity, obstacle friction, wind tunnel input speed.
• Predefined scenes : airfoil, cars, rocks, Kármán vortex street…
The Wind Tunnel app lets you create beautiful wind tunnel scenes, play with the fluid and understand physics effects.
Fluid motion is computed by solving Navier-Stokes equations, at high definition (50000 grid cells) thanks to optimized code taking the most out of CPU performance.
This version does not work on iPad. For iPad buy Wind Tunnel -- for iPad.

Doing numerics professionally I would like to express my deepest respect for the author. This application combines the iPhones interfacing capabilities with sophisticated math coding. Not so many years ago something like this would have been a >>10.000 € high-end-workstation application.
The full version allows you to adjust more parameters, most important the orientation of the object wrt. to the stream.
(Since nothing is so good that there could not be an improvement, I would be glad about a parameter (length scale, velocity, density, viscosity, pressure, forces) output, preferably not in scaled, but in SI units.
(And on the long term a movie export option ... yes, I know; thats hard ...))
It is an impressive app. Absolutely worth its price. I would strongly recommend to improve it by:-
1) better drawing tool or GUI
2) basic units! Even if adimensional.
3) ability to produce pictures or a screenshot
If you improve this app by implementing the three above suggestions, I would pay more, more, much more for that cool software!

Im a professional engineer and I am impressed with this simulator! Although it makes me shudder to recall my days in my many hydraulic classes I have to say that this app makes hydraulics more enjoyable. Good job developer!! I bought the Wind Tunnel first and then upgraded to the pro version....love it!!
Im a flight instructor and I have used the visuals in the pro version to illustrate a few key points in ground school via an overhead projector! Great to see how angle of attack affects the flow around an airfoil -- and to be able to do it in real time, with many variables and visualization modes is very helpful!
Some bad moments
4.5/5 I love that I can import designs etc. And all the other things that arent in the original version.
What I dont like is the resolution even after import. I made designs in illustrator that have fine lines, and I understand there are limits to the power of the iPhone core, but having lines with more information than such thick lines would make this a 5/5 from me.
So far so good simply keep up the updates at a steady pace. Still kinda featureless perhaps worth 99 cents at the current state.
Its awesome like no joke just download and mess around youll see for yourself :D
Add free mode from the $2 version to this pro version and I will give five stars. This app is superb I recommend it. Also, maybe add a few more modes and maybe a feature similar to the propeller.....like a jet engine/turbine. Or something that makes a swirling motion like a helicopter. Thanks for this app I am a big supporter, I have all of your apps. Please improve it with new features!!! Thank you!
This app has been very helpful in design testing with no cost in time or money building prototypes. The only addition I would like to see is an update providing reference points or measurable values on the speed, friction, and viscosity slide bars.
Being in aero for over 30 years and with Burt Rutan in the 80s I know what is worth using. Skip the lower version and buy the Pro version. I would pay an extra 20 dollars or so for some numerical values on the pressure and speed.
